Givens Charities Scholarship Program
The Givens Charities Inc. Scholarship Program is an initiative of the Givens Organization, managed by the Executive Team at Givens Charities Inc.

Purpose and Criteria
Established in 2023, the scholarship program aims to encourage and support three primary groups of underprivileged individuals seeking access to higher education:
Graduating high school seniors
Young adults (ages 18 to 33) who have been away from the learning environment but are motivated to reengage in higher education.
Mature adults (ages 34 to 55) who are committed to making lifelong learning a part of their quality of life.

Fundraising for the program began on March 1, 2023, with consistent contributions from its founding Board of Directors: Mr. John L. Givens III, Mrs. Patricia A. Frazier, and Mr. Joe L. Vines Sr. The majority of the funds are allocated to students who demonstrate high academic achievement and come from low to moderate-income families. Recipients of the Givens Charities Scholarship Program must be residents of California and plan to further their education within the state. Scholarships are awarded without regard to race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, religion, or any other arbitrary factor. After a preliminary screening for completeness of applications, the Executive Team reviews submissions and selects recipients.

Application
Any resident of California who fits into one of the three groups mentioned above may apply to the respective Givens scholarship program, regardless of their previous high school or college (public or private). Application forms will be available starting in February from school counselors, public libraries, and here. Applications must be postmarked by the 2nd Wednesday of April and can be submitted by mail or email at:
